Maple Lawn Elementary – Afternoon Dismissal Guidelines

Families, thank you for your cooperation in keeping dismissal safe and orderly. Please review these reminders carefully:
-
Dismissal time: @ 3:20 PM
-
After 3:30 PM, any students not yet picked up will be taken to the main office. Parents will need to park in the front, go inside, and sign out their child.
-
-
Dismissal locations:
-
SPED buses will be on Vandelia, and Regular buses will be on the Inwood side. All buses and parent pick-up cars will use the designated safe curbside pick-up area.
-
Buses will park in front, and cars will line up behind them to ensure there is enough space and to help keep all students safe. Staff members will place cones to help guide where everyone should wait and to support a safe, smooth dismissal.
-
PreK Side of the School on Vandelia Street
-
Kinder – 2nd grade: Front of the school, curbside on Inwood Rd. (same area as the buses).
-
3rd – 5th grade: Back of the school, curbside on Carlson Dr.
-
-
Multiple children: If you are picking up siblings from different grade levels, please send a written note to the teachers specifying your preferred pick-up location. Students will then be sent to that designated area.
-
Afternoon programs: If your child participates in an after-school program, please notify their teacher in writing. Our programs are:
-
Boys and Girls Club

Buses: Parents must provide a written note with:
-
Confirmation that their child is a bus rider.
-
The specific bus route number and stop.
-
Any special instructions if the child will sometimes ride the bus and sometimes be picked up by car.
-
-
Car line rules (front and back): Please follow campus staff instructions during dismissal so we can keep everyone safe and make dismissal run smoothly for all students and families.
-
Use curbside only. Do not park and get down.
-
Pull forward, let your child enter safely, and continue driving.

Drive slowly, avoid distractions, and watch for students and staff.
-
-
Safety reminders:

Always follow staff directions.
